Block Therapy

What is Block Therapy
Block Therapy is a form of bodywork and self-care that combines fascia release, breathwork, and isometric strengthening using a specially designed tool called a Block Buddy or Block Baby. It was developed by Deanna Hansen, a certified athletic therapist from Canada.
Block Therapy involves laying or pressing your body into a wooden block in specific areas to:
-
Melt fascial restrictions (the fascia is the connective tissue that surrounds muscles and organs)
-
Release stored tension, pain, and trauma
-
Improve posture, circulation, and organ function
How Does It Work
Fascia Decompression:
-
Fascia can become dense or stuck due to injury, stress, poor posture, or inflammation.
-
The block slowly sinks into tissue melting restrictions.
-
Diaphragmatic Breathing is incorported intothe work-out.
-
Deep, slow breathing is used during the therapy to promote oxygenation and help tissue release tension more effectively.
Time-Based Hold:
-
You hold each position for 3 to 5 minutes (sometimes longer),
-
allowing the tissue to release gradually and deeply.
